It really can't be understated how important the Tragically Hip was, and still is, to the landscape of Canadian music. When the Tragically Hip came along, they single-handedly revived a stale Canadian music scene, and combined a mix of rock, folk, blues and country to create a sound that was truly unique to them. Combine that with a legendary live show, and you have a band that inspired legions of intensely loyal fans for the last quarter-century. That's why Paul Langlois, Rob Baker, Gord Sinclair, Johnny Fay and the late Gord Downie are collectively nicknamed "Canada's House Band."
