Formed in 2015 in St. Louis, Missouri, 100 Gecs is an experimental alternative duo comprised of Dylan Brady and Laura Les (AKA osno1). Combining elements of techno, hardcore, hip hop, trance, heavy metal, and industrial, 100 Gecs’ music is unconventional, yet the duo has been praised by the music press and has achieved a fair amount of commercial success. Brady and Les met in the winter of 2015 and, soon after, began recording together. They self-released their debut EP, 100 Gecs, on all digital platforms in July 2016. Various solo projects – they’ve both released numerous albums EPs and singles - kept them from recording together again until 2019. In May of that year, they released their debut full-length album, 1000 Gecs, on Big Beat/Atlantic Records. The album received rave reviews from the press and reached Number 13 on Billboard’s Top Heatseaker Albums chart as well as Number 33 on the same publication’s Independent Album’s chart. Brady and Les toured the album during the latter part of the year. A remix project, entitled 1000 Gecs & The Tree of Clues was announced for release in June of 2020. “Money Machine” (A.G. Cook Remix), “745 Sticky” (Injury Reserve Remix), “Gec 2 U (Remix)” (featuring Dorian Electra), and “Ringtone” (featuring Charli XCX, Rico Nasty, and Kero Kero Bonito) were issued as singles prior to the remix project’s release.
