Although mysterious about the path that led him to music, rapper Junior Mimbe Minko aka 2MJ appeared on the radar of the Gabonese music industry in the late 2010s. From his very first tracks, the Gabonese rapper has shown an attachment to electronic production to accompany his flow and writing. On "Tsa Tsi Tso" (2018), "Le Papa là" (2019) and "Mabanga", 2MJ's lyrics oscillate between raps and more dance music-oriented productions. Little by little, the man who sometimes goes by the name 2MJ La Machine carved out a place for himself in Gabon's musical landscape, alternating solo tracks with featurings: "Ndemza" (2019) with Ghost or "Bougie 144" (2020) with Creol and Big Boss J.O.J.O won over listeners and increased the size of his audience. Continuing to release singles in anticipation of denser projects, 2MJ moves ever closer to electronic aesthetics with "Le kwace de la West Coast" (2022) alongside Big Monster, whose rhythms follow in the footsteps of South African amapiano.
