Adam Naas

French singer-songwriter Adam Naas began learning guitar in his teens, before taking an interest in piano and keyboards on a self-taught basis. For a time, he went by the pseudonym L'Aigle Noir, in homage to Barbara's song, or Le Corbeau. He came to prominence in 2015 when, under the name Adam Naas, he posted his first song, "Fading Away", on the Inrocks Lab website. Quickly, the neo-soul track set against a sober electro backdrop drew flattering comparisons with James Blake or The xx. The young musician was contacted to encourage him to send in other compositions and enter the weekly's annual competition. Surprised by such a strong response to this one completed track, Adam Naas set about the follow-up, and a few weeks later, in late summer 2016, delivered a debut EP featuring the three tracks "Downtown", "You Should Know (Brothers and Sisters)" and "Go Slow", while "Fading Away" made the rounds on the internet with its music video.
