Agnes Obel is a Danish singer-songwriter and pianist who made an international splash with her debut album 'Philharmonics' in 2010. Born in a northern suburb of Copenhagen, she learned to play the piano as a child and leaned towards a jazz-folk style influenced by Swedish pianist Jan Johansson. Based in Berlin since 2006, she has won prizes in her homeland and performed in England and America. 'Aventine' was released in 2013 and earned Obel her second number one in Denmark, followed by 'Citizen of Glass' in 2016 and in 2018 she contributed to the compilation album 'LateNightTales'. Her track 'Riverside' has featured on major television shows including 'The Mist', 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Ringer', 'Lovesick', 'Offspring' and 'The Rain'. The track 'Familiar' was also featured on the German show 'Dark' and 'Cardinal'. In 2019 she returned with the track 'Island of Doom', which features on her 2020 album 'Myopia', alongside second single 'Broken Sleep'.
