Akim Papichulo, Ivorian-Ghanaian singer, composer and rapper, is a rising star on the Afro-Cuban scene. Born on April 12, 2001 in Yopougon, he draws his inspiration from legends such as Cesária Évora, Celia Cruz and the group Africando. Fascinated by these sounds, he began singing at the age of 11 and developed a unique style, fusing Afro-Cuban rhythms with contemporary African influences. With his EP Vida, Akim Papichulo established himself as one of the first Ivorian artists to modernize this musical genre, bringing a personal touch that appealed to an ever-growing audience. With his bewitching voice and innate sense of melody, he creates a vibrant, immersive music, at the crossroads of Afrobeat, coupé-décalé and Latin rhythms. He invites his listeners on an original sonic voyage, between tradition and modernity, rooted in the cultural richness of Africa and its diaspora.
