Akiyo Yajima is a renowned Japanese folk and enka singer, born in Yūki City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Known for her exceptional vocal abilities, she has held several titles at the youngest age ever recorded. In 2017, She released her first mini-album Ii anbai - Akiyo no Utatsumugi - which showcased traditional folk songs from Ibaraki. Her career took a significant turn when she made her major debut as an idol in the folk music scene. She gained popularity with her renditions of classic enka songs such as "Shusse Otokomichi"(2019) and "Akanegoi"(2022). In 2023, she expanded her repertoire by releasing the album "Akiyo no Golden Hit Parade" which features original pop songs alongside covers of iconic tracks by artists like Emi Jōri, Peggy Hayama, and Saeko Sakai. In January 2025, she released her third enka single, "Hitori Kujigawa".
