Born on November 16, 2000, in Houston, Texas, American singer Alaina Castillo transitioned from her humble online beginnings to establishing herself as a prominent name in the alternative pop domain. Influenced by classics such as the Beach Boys and Elvis as well as the smooth sounds of R&B artists like Usher, her delicate yet precise vocal style garnered massive popularity among the ASMR community. Her Sing U 2 Sleep lullaby series became an online sensation, further propelling her to stardom. Relocating to the music hub of Los Angeles, 2019 saw the release of her debut single, "i don't think I love you anymore." Follow-up singles "no importa" and "mentiras" seamlessly blended Latin elements with contemporary pop and R&B and were both included in her debut EP, 2019's antisocial butterfly. Over the following years, she continued to hone her innovative pop sound on the EPs parallel universe pt. 1 (2021) and fantasies (2022), the latter of which featured the hit singles "sad girls always finish first" and "call me when ur lonely." Preceded by tracks such as "éxtasis," "luna de miel," and "hookah envenena," her third extended play titled malos hábitos arrived in 2023 and found the singer doubling down on the Latin and electro influences.
