DJ and producer Alan Walker was born August 24, 1997, in Northampton, England. Though he became a celebrated artist, he chose to remain anonymous, wearing a mask and hoodie during interviews. Walker, also known as DJ Walkzz, declared himself as a computer geek, programmer, gamer, and hacker who preferred to stay out of the limelight and let his music do the talking. Having taught himself the basics of sound production and home recording from video tutorials, Walker set to work creating his own material using studio software and in 2014 released the track “Fade”. The track, which was later remixed and renamed “Faded”, received more than one billion views and garnered eleven million likes making it one of the top ten most liked video submissions on his channel. Walker, who was half English and half Norwegian, remained an enigmatic character and the material he recorded after “Faded” received incredible levels of exposure through the Internet with views and downloads numbering in the hundreds of millions. In 2018 he teamed up with producer K-391 on “Ignite” with singers Julie Bergan and Seungri. He later released “Darkside” featuring Au/Ra and Tomine Harket, “Sheep” featuring Lay, and “Diamond Heart” featuring Sophia Somajo. The latter became his sixth Number 1 hit. In November 2018 he revealed the title of his debut studio album, Different World, and released the title track as the lead single. The LP topped the album chart. He released collaborations with ASAP Rocky, Sabrina Carpenter, and numerous other artists over the next three years, nothing his 17th top 20 single in 221 with “Sweet Dreams”, which featured Imanbek.
