Formed at Brigham Young University in 2008 in Provo, Utah, Imagine Dragons became one of the biggest acts of the 2010s, thanks to a Grammy-winning blend of larger-than-life arena rock and contemporary electropop. Led by frontman Dan Reynolds, the band cut its teeth in dingy casinos on the edge of Las Vegas' famous strip, releasing self-produced EPs like 2008's Speak to Me, 2009's Imagine Dragons, and 2010's Hell and Silence along the way. The debut album Night Visions was released in 2012 and went on to reach Number Two in both US and the UK, winning praise for its emotional, anthemic melodies and stadium rock ambition. The single "Radioactive" sold more than eight million copies in America alone, where it topped the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and peaked at Number 3 on the Hot 100. "It's Time," "Demons," and "On Top of the World" also became multi-platinum hits, a trend that Imagine Dragons continued with "I Bet My Life," the lead single from 2015's Smoke + Mirrors. Also featuring the Top 10 rock single "Shots," Smoke + Mirrors peaked at Number 1 in America, Canada, and the UK. A third album, Evolve, was released in 2017 and eventually went triple-platinum, thanks to the chart-topping success of "Believer," "Thunder," and "Whatever It Takes.""Natural," a track from 2018's Origins, also peaked at Number 1, with the album itself becoming Imagine Dragons' fourth platinum-certified record in a row. Mercury - Act 1 followed in 2021, led by the Top 10 single "Follow You" and featuring the follow-up Top 40 hits "Cutthroat," "Wrecked," "Monday," "My Life," and "Lonely." The band introduced their sixth studio album Loom in 2024 with the rap-rock, dubstep-tinged single "Eyes Closed," which was given the remix treatment by Colombian megastar J Balvin in May 2024. The LP went to number 22 on the US Billboard chart.
