Alarmsignal

Formed in Celle in 2000 under the name Endzeit, the German punk revival band renamed Alarmsignal has progressively won over a wider and wider audience with each successive album. Originally a trio with no surviving members, the band has been led by singer/bassist Steff since 2001, with guitarist/vocalist Borsti, drummer/vocalist Kühn since 2003 and guitarist/vocalist Bulli Broke since 2009. Influenced by punk bands already firmly established in Germany since the 1990s, Alarmsignal recorded a debut album entitled Fahneneid, released on the alternative label Dreckspatzen Records in 2004, before signing with Nix Gut Records for the following three: Nazis nehmen uns die Arbeitsplätze weg (2006), Revolutionäre sterben nie (2007) and Sklaven der Langeveile (2009). Alarmsignal's revolutionary spirit was evident on their debut album, which featured the band urinating on the national flag, and their politically committed lyrics set them apart. After leaving their own label, the next Alles Ist Vergänglich (2012), Viva Versus (2015) and Attaque (2018) were released on guitarist Bulli's label, Antikörper Export. Paradoxically, it was at a time when the band was gaining in audience and attracting larger crowds to its concerts, that original member Borsti decided to leave. Alarmsignal, by then signed to the label Agressive Punk Produktionen, recruited Tom to record the album Ästethik des Widerstands (2022), which reached number 20 in the national charts. Three years later, Insomnia confirms this success at #15. The vinyl boxed set includes an additional album, 25 Jahre Alarm - A Tribute to Alarmsignal, a tribute by various bands to the band's 25th anniversary.
