English singer Alexa Goddard was discovered at a local talent contest at the age of 14, and invited aged only 17 to tour America and Canada with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra as a backing singer. She featured on their single 'Child of the Night' in 2009. She released her first solo single, a cover of 'Speechless' by The Veronicas in 2008. In 2010, with the assistance of producer Stewart 'Stew Mac' MacLean, she set up her own YouTube Channel, AlexaMusicTV, which was so successful that she had over eleven million views and 56,000 subscribers in her first year. She posted several cover versions including 'Dynamite' by Taio Cruz (2010) and 'Turn My Swag On' by Soulja Boy (2010). The latter became her first hit single, reaching number 20 in the UK Singles Chart. In 2014, Goddard signed a five-album record deal with Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation, and released three singles in 2014: 'Marilyn', a tribute to Marilyn Monroe, 'So There', which reached number 67 in the UK Singles Chart and 'We Broke the Sky'.
