Álvaro Díaz

Álvaro Díaz, born Jorge Álvaro Díaz Rodríguez on July 25, 1989, in Isabela, is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and songwriter. He began his career by uploading songs to SoundCloud in 2012, gaining considerable traction with his first track "Chica de la Isla." In 2015, Díaz released his debut album Hato Rey, named after the San Juan neighborhood where he grew up in. He continued to release music steadily, including the EP San Juan Grand Prix in 2016. His collaborations with Homegrown Mafia and artists like Alemán and FNTXY helped him build a solid fan base. From 2017 to 2018, Álvaro Díaz released several singles, including hits like "West Side," "OK," and "Asiento de Atrás." In 2019, he gained further recognition with tracks such as "Videos" with Rauw Alejandro and "Uwi" with Sousa, and the EP Diaz Antes: Wavy pa las Bbys. In 2020, he featured on Tainy's hit "Mera" and released Diaz Antes: La Ciudad de los Niños Tristes. He also collaborated with artists like Eladio Carrión and Sebastián Yatra. He ended the year with the album Díaz Antes, featuring collaborations with Yandel, Fuego, and C. Tangana. Álvaro Díaz continued his momentum into 2021, releasing singles like "Gatillera," "Brilloteo," and "Problemón" with Rauw Alejandro, and the album Felicilandia, which included collaborations with Bratty, Yensanjuan, and Jesse Baez. In 2022, Díaz released singles "Ramona Flowers," "Lentito," and "Supra 94tro." In 2023, he continued to release music, including "1000Canciones" and "FATAL FANTASY" with Tainy. His highly anticipated album Sayonara was released on May 17, 2024, whose star-studded lineup included Feid, Tainy, Sen Senra, Rauw Alejandro, Tainy, Young Cister, Mora, and Quevedo, among others.
