Born in Jay, Florida, bluegrass singer and musician Amanda Cook was introduced to music by her father, a banjo player whom she accompanies in the band High Cotton, formed in 2007. In 2013, she launched her own career, releasing a self-produced debut album entitled One Stop Along the Road, before forming her own band, The Amanda Cook Band. Signed by specialist label Mountain Fever Records, the mandolinist and singer recorded the albums Deep Water (2017), Point of No Return (2019) and Narrowing the Gap (2021) with her partners, establishing her reputation on the contemporary bluegrass scene. Musician after musician followed album, with a renewed line-up on Changes (2022), which reached #1 in the bluegrass charts, while its successor Restless Soul reached #2 in 2024.
