Ananya Bhat

Born 14 September 1993 in Ankali, Belagavi district, Ananya Bhat is an award-winning Indian playback singer who largely sings in the Kannada and Telugu languages, but has also sung in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. In 2017, she received the prestigious Filmfare award for her "Namma Kaayo Devan" song from the Indian Kannada film Rama Rama Re... Raised in the city of Mysuru in the southern state of Karnataka, she released her first song as a singer in 2013, "Nee Thoreda Ghaligeyali" for the Indian Kannada-language psychological thriller drama film Lucia, before making a name for herself in 2016 with the aforementioned "Namma Kaayo Devan." She picked up two more awards for "Hold On" in 2013: the SIIMA 2019 for best female playback singer (Kannada) and a Best Playback Singer – Female Nomination at 66th Filmfare Awards South. That same year also marked her Telugu singing debut for "Yettagayya Shiva" from Aatagadharaa Siva, receiving another nod at the 66th Filmfare Awards South in the form of a best female playback singer nomination. Straying into folk with 2020's "Sojugada Sooju Mallige," that year she also made her acting debut, appearing in an episode of daily soap Kannadathi as herself. She released a cache of music in 2022, including "Sinnavaada" for the movie Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam.
