Ananya Birla

From supporting Coldplay to becoming the first Indian artist with a platinum-selling English-language single in India, electronic pop supernova Ananya Birla has been at the frontier of India’s new wave of fresh, homegrown pop. The self-taught santoor and guitar player has achieved a great deal in a short space of time. After stepping out in 2016 with debut single "Livin' the Life", released on her new label home of Universal Music India and produced by JimBeanz (Nelly Furtado, Cheryl Tweedy, Demi Lovato), a stream of popular singles followed. These included "Meant to Be" (2017) – certified platinum in India – "Circles" (2018) and "Hold On" (2018). Birla released her debut four-track Fingerprint EP in May 2019, featuring the “Blackout” collaboration with Nigerian rapper Vector and Nigerian singer-songwriter Wurld, and marking one of the first collaborations between artists from India and Nigeria. 2019 also saw the release of the “Unstoppable” single in honor of International Women’s Day. In 2020, Birla dropped the singles "Let There Be Love" and "Everybody's Lost".
