Angela Zhang (born on January 19, 1982 in Zhongli, Taoyuan, Taiwan) – also known as Angela Chang – took her first steps as an actress on Taiwanese television dramas My MVP Valentine (2002) and At Dolphin Bay (2003), before setting her sights on music. In 2004, she released her debut Mandarin solo album, Over the Rainbow, which garnered praise and encouraged the release of the follow-up, Aurora, also released that same year. In 2005, album track "Mama Mama" was nominated for Top 10 Gold Songs at the Hong Kong TVB8 Awards, presented by the television station TVB8 and Chang was also nominated for Best Mandarin Female Singer at the 16th Golden Melody Awards that same year. Chang's third Mandarin album, Pandora, came in 2006 and another six albums appeared over the next decade, including 2016's Head Over Heels. Chang went through a period of upheaval during that time owing to media coverage of issues with her family and her label, Linfair Records. In 2018, after having moved her career to mainland China, she was thrust back into the spotlight after appearing on the Chinese singing show Singer 2018 as a host and contestant. In 2019, Chang released album ?, on her new label home of HIM International Music. The album was the 56th best-selling album in China that year.
