Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Arcadia, California, Taiwanese-American R&B-led popstar Jason Chen (November 12, 1988) first found fame on YouTube. His YouTube channel, MusicNeverSleeps, has nearly two million subscribers. Chen started out performing and uploading covers to YouTube in 2007 – including a remake of Nelly's "Just A Dream" with fellow YouTube artist Joseph Vincent, among others – while juggling his burgeoning music career alongside his undergraduate studies at the University of California. He pulled back the curtain on his own songwriting endeavors in 2011, self-releasing his first album, Gravity, which spawned the viral hit "Best Friend" and helped to intensify Chen's online following. 2013 saw the release of an album of Taiwanese covers, Jie Sheng Qian, while Chen's second and third albums of original material, Never for Nothing and What If Acoustic, also arrived that year. A pair of singles landed in 2017 – "Stay" and "Stay With Me" – while 2018 saw the arrival of the album Chinese Covers, Vol. 1.
