Singer Anthony Lamar Brown, born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 22, 1981, has made a name for himself on the contemporary gospel scene with his choir, Group TherAPy. Musical director since 2008 of the Baptist Church of Glenarden, located in Upper Marlboro, he began his career with the album Anthony Brown & Group TherAPy (2012), which revealed him to the public and reached No. 3 on the gospel sales chart and No. 130 on the Billboard 200. Performing under the independent specialist label Tyscot Records, he continued in the same vein with Everyday Jesus, No. 1 on the gospel charts in 2015, then A Long Way from Sunday, propelled to the same position in 2017 and 2econd Wind: Ready in 2019. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Stuck in the House: The Pandemic Project (2020) is released, followed by Affirmations (2023), from which the singles "Up Up Up" and "God's Got Me" are taken . In 2024, a new version of "Up Up Up" is released, reaching number 9 in the gospel charts.
