Atticus Ross

Born January 16, 1968 in London, England, musician, composer, and producer Atticus Ross would go on to become one of the most respected film composers of his time. After attending Eton as well as the Courtland Institute of Art, Ross began a career in music. His first success came in collaboration with Tim Simenon on his work as Bomb the Bass in the 1990s. He started the rock band 12 Rounds, and it was with them that he met Trent Reznor when Reznor produced sessions for the group’s aborted third album. Ross and Reznor collaborated well together, and soon Ross became an adjunct member of Reznor’s Nine Inch Nails in 2005. Ross scored the omnibus film New York, I Love You in 2008, and won awards for his score on 2010’s The Book of Eli. Together with Reznor he scored David Fincher’s The Social Network, and their work earned them rave reviews as well as an Oscar. Reznor made Ross a full member of Nine Inch Nails in 2016. The duo would go on to score The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, and Mank for Fincher, as well as other projects including the HBO series Watchmen, which earned Ross and Fincher Emmys, and the 2020 Pixar film Soul.
