Awa Imani

Awa Imani, an R&B and urban pop singer of Guinean and Senegalese origin, was born in Paris on February 28, 1987, and was introduced to the artistic world as a child by her father, a singer and dance teacher, and her mother, a dance teacher and actress. She shot to fame in 2009 with her hit "Celebration", taken from the compilation album by rapper Rim-K Maghreb United, featuring the group 113 and comedian Jamel Debbouze. The track racked up millions of views on social networks, giving Awa Imani wide exposure, and she followed this up in 2010 with a collaboration with Soprano on "Châteaux de sable", taken from the rapper's album La Colombe. She released her first solo single, "Rien n'est acquis", in 2012, then waited until 2014 to launch her second, "Night in Paris". She then collaborated with Iceberg Slim, Alrima and S. Pri Noir, before releasing "Je le veux " with Lartiste in 2021.
