Aya Kamiki is a Japanese vocalist who has performed with the visual kei band Uroboros and rock duo Sonic Lover Reckless, in addition to enjoying a successful solo career. Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, on September 10, 1985, she debuted in 2004 with an EP entitled W.H.Y?. Her full-length debut, Secret Code, followed in July 2006 and reached number 5 in Japan, cementing Kamiki's status as a J-pop star. The single "Pierrot" was particularly popular, reaching number 9 on the Oricon Top 200 and jump-starting a streak of Top 40 singles. 2007's Ashita no Tame ni: Forever More peaked at number 8, earning three Top 40 hits along the way, while 2008's Are You Happy Now? peaked at number 10 on the strength of singles like "Summer Memories" and "Sunday Morning." One year later, she teamed up with Takuya, the former guitarist for the chart-topping rock band Judy and Mary, for the collaborative single "W-B-X (W-Boiled Extreme)." The song went gold and reached number 8, becoming Kamiki's highest-charting single in Japan. She released two albums in 2010: the studio record Individual Emotion and the greatest hits compilation Aya Kamiki Greatest Best. Those two albums marked the end of her solo career, with Kamiki forming the band Uroboros in 2015. The group released two records. Kaki also released material with Sonic Lover Reckless, a duo that also featured Lovebites' guitarist, Miyako.
