Bayhan

Bayhan Gürhan is an Arabesque musician who launched a popular solo career in Turkey after appearing on the Popstar Türkiye, where he competed against other vocalists and finished in third place. Born on March 14, 1980, in Adana, Turkey, Gürhan hdd a troubled childhood. He lost his mother at six years old and soon relocated to Germany, where he was taken into custody by the German Child Protective Services at nine years old. Returning to Turkey in 1991, he spent the final years of the decade in prison, serving a multi-year sentence for murder. Although his criminal past made Gürhan a controversial character on Popstar Türkiye, he still secured a third-place finish on the show. After filming wrapped up in 2003, he began working on his debut album, Hayal Edemiyorum, which was released the following year. 2008's Vurdumduymaz and 2009's Kısa Veda quickly followed, with Gürhan releasing three records — Yalan, Yenildim, and Cezayir Menekşesi — in 2011. Although his prolific pace slowed down during the rest of the 2010s, he returned to the Turkish mainstream with 2021's Gidiyorum. Three years later, he scored one of the biggest hits of his career with the single "Tiryakinim," which reached Number 1 on Turkey's Top 50 Spotify chart and number 3 on the country's Top 100 Apple Music chart.
