Anchored by the songwriting talents of French-born vocalist/keyboardist Victoria Legrand and American guitarist Alex Scally, the Baltimore-based dream pop band Beach House formed in 2004 and released its self-titled debut album two years later. Although not a commercial success, the album received critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean and was followed by 2008's Devotion, which peaked at Number 195 in the US. Two years later, Teen Dream charted at Number 43 in America and Number 78 in the UK, with the single "Norway" becoming a Top 20 hit in Mexico. Beach House's success reached a newfound peak with 2012's Bloom, an international Top 40 hit that charted at Number 8 in America and Number 15 in the UK. Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars were both released in 2015, and Beach House earned a nomination for "Best Foreign Album" at Sweden's GAFFA Awards for the band's 2018 release, 7. Once Twice Melody, a double album featuring 18 songs, was released in four installments throughout late 2021 and early 2022. The record's title track, "Once Twice Melody," peaked at Number 15 on Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart, with the album itself reaching Number 12 on the Billboard 200.
