Beenzino, born Lim Sung-bin on September 12, 1987, is a renowned South Korean rapper noted for his melodic flow and versatile style. His stage name is a playful combination of the Boston rapper Benzino's name and "빈" (pronounced "been") from his own name. Beenzino first gained attention as part of the duo Jazzyfact with producer Shimmy Twice in 2008. He made his official public debut at Dok2's Hustle Real Hard concert in 2011, quickly establishing a reputation in South Korea’s hip-hop scene. He is best known for his solo work, particularly his hit single "Dali, Van, Picasso," (2013) which brought him mainstream success. Beenzino has collaborated with various prominent artists and producers, including Primary and Dok2, and was a part of Hot Clip, a duo with Beatbox DG. His discography includes several albums, such as 12 (2016) and Nowitzki (2023), both critically and commercially successful. Beenzino’s international acclaim grew with his 2015 solo tour in the United States.
