Genre-blending UK-based DJ and producer Ben Westbeech straddles the nightclub and the jazz club with his eclectic electronica offerings. Born on May 12, 1981 in Hertfordshire, UK, Westbeech trained as a cellist before snagging a career-changing deal with Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings in 2007. His debut album, Welcome to the Best Years of Life, came out later that year and introduced Westbeech as an elastic producer capable of mining a varied spectrum of sounds, from jazz and acid jazz to beat-laden trip-hop, downtempo and more. Westbeech's second album, the house-inspired There's More To Life Than This, came in 2011 via US house label Strictly Rhythm and saw the singer-songwriter further expand his sonic palette. The LP featured a host of collaborators, including house artists Midland, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Henrik Schwartz and singer-songwriters Georg Levin and Rasmus Faber. In 2012, Westbeech – who also produces house-minded music under his well-respected Breach alias – launched his new label Naked Naked. As Breach, he acquired his first successful single "Jack," which peaked at Number 9 on the UK Singles Chart in 2013. The follow-up single, "Everything You Never Had (We Had It All)" featuring Andreya Triana, also peaked at Number 9. In 2014, Westbeech collaborated with Kelis on "The Key."
