Beny Jr

Urban artist Beny Jr was born on August 12, 1988, in the Moroccan city of Beni Ahamed Garbía, Chefchaouen. He moved to Spain at a very young age and settled down in the neighborhood of La Florida in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, a city right outside Barcelona. After a series of run-ins with the law that resulted in multiple prison sentences, Beny Jr found solace in music and went on to become one of the biggest exponents of trap and drill with early tracks like "Maleante," "Muévelo Así," and the viral hit "#FreePeke," recorded with fellow MC and friend Morad in 2019. Trap & Love, his studio debut, appeared in 2020 and was followed by the singles "2+2," "Kawasaki," and "Mafioso," all of which helped propel him to the forefront of Spain's thriving rap scene. In 2021, Beny Jr teamed up with producer El Guincho on Samurai, an eclectic exploration of urban music that effortlessly combined trap, reggaeton, drill, and afrobeats. That same year, a prolific Beny Jr released the album El Precio del Dinero and the non-album singles "Xiaomi" and "Brillando Sin Luz." In 2022, he featured on the chart-topping remix of Bad Gyal's "Flow 2000" and collaborated with Morad on the joint EP Capítulo 1, one of the most popular Spanish releases of the year thanks to the dance-oriented single "Sigue." He continued this trend in the following years with releases like La soledad aburre pero no traiciona (2023) and Anti Social Cool Kid (2024), which enjoyed great popularity on streaming platforms.
