Bialystocks

Bialystocks, a Japanese alternative rock duo, formed during a live performance in the 2019 film Haruneko directed by Motoki Hokimoto under the joint production of Shinji Aoyama and Takenori Sentō. The band is made up of Sora Hokimoto from Saitama, a vocalist and a graduate of Tama Art University’s Department of Film and Theatre, and Gou Kikuchi, who handles keyboards and chorus. Their indie debut album, released in 2021, featured the track "I Don't Have a Pen" which was chosen for NTT Docomo’s "Quadratic Playground" web commercial. In 2022, they released their song "Sashiiro"(2022) as the ending theme for TV Tokyo's drama Sensei no Otori Yose marking their first original drama theme song. That October, their first solo live performance at Otemachi Mitsui Hall sold out immediately. Their major debut, the album Quicksand was released on November 30, 2022, under Pony Canyon/IRORI Records. Their release, Songs for the Cryptids (2024) continues to showcase their unique sound and lyrical depth.
