Badriia Ines Bourelly, better known as Bibi Bourelly, is a German singer-songwriter whose diverse musical universe encompasses pop rock, soul music, and R&B. Born on 14 July 1994 in Berlin, Germany, of Haitian and Moroccan lineage, she grew up surrounded by the arts, with her father being professional guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly and her mother heading the Art Department at Berlin's House of the World’s Cultures. By age 4, she was already feeding her creativity by writing songs and attending concerts. After moving to the US in her teens to finish high school, she collaborated with producer Paperboy Fabe in Maryland, leading to a groundbreaking session with Kanye West. That session resulted in Rihanna's "Higher," written in just about 30 minutes. Another one of her songs, "Bitch Better Have My Money," was chosen as the lead single for her 2016 album, Anti. In 2015, she launched her solo career with the single "Riot," followed by a feature on Lil Wayne's "Without You" as well as songwriting credits on tracks by Nick Brewer ("Talk to Me") and Selena Gomez ("Camouflage"). Bibi Borrelly released two more singles that year, "Ego" and "Sally" before dropping her debut EP Free the Real (Pt. 1) in 2016. A second EP titled Free the Real (Pt. 2) arrived in November of that year and Boy, a collection of acoustic versions, ensued in 2017. Over the following years, Bibi Bourelly delivered a string of well-received singles such as "Writer's Song" (2018), "White House" (2018), and "Wet" (2019) while also co-writing for Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, and Demi Lovato, among others. She resumed her music endeavors in 2022 through the collaborative EP Solèy, recorded with Maureen Boyer and producer Samtrax.
