Bill Kaulitz was born on September 1, 1989 in Leipzig, Germany. With his twin brother Tom Kaulitz, he devoted himself to music from an early age, one on vocals and the other on guitar. Inspired in particular by the Japanese Visual Kei style, the two brothers named their band Tokio Hotel. Signed to Universal in 2005, Tokio Hotel became a teen pop phenomenon with their album Schrei , released the same year. Tokio Hotel's popularity waned in 2014 with Kings of Suburbia, leaving Bill Kaulitz longing for more. He brought his project to fruition in 2016 with the EP I'm Not OK, released under the name BILLY. These four songs of gothic pop-rock, which fit in well with Bill Kaulitz's personality, enabled him to seduce many European charts, including the French.
