German pop and rock singer LaFee, who was born Christina Klein on December 9, 1990 in Stolberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, began practising on the big stage at an early age. As a child, she took part in various Star Search casting shows before being signed by renowned music manager Bob Arnz in 2004. LaFee made her first commercial impact in 2006: the single "Virus" reached number 14 in the charts in both Germany and Austria. The track also announces her self-titled debut album LaFee , which is released on Capitol Records and becomes a mega-hit: In Germany, where it stays in the LP parade for a year, and in Austria, where it goes platinum, the record storms to the top of the charts. The successor Jetzt erst recht (Now more than ever) achieves the same, and in 2007 the top 3 single "Heul doch" is also released as an English version under the name "Shut Up" . an entire English-language album followed in 2008, also entitled Shut Up, which reached number 21 in Germany. After another top 10 album, Ring frei (2009), and LaFee's last studio album for the time being, Frei, was released in 2011, the multiple ECHO winner (including twice as Artist National Pop) took a creative break. Following individual single releases in the mid-2010s, such as "Hysteria" (2015) and "Schwarze Tränen" (2016), LaFee made a successful comeback in 2021: Her fifth opus Back to the Future, on which she covers pop classics such as "Rock Me Amadeus" (original: Falco) or "La Isla Bonita " (original: Madonna), once again breaks into the top 10 of the album hit list in Germany, with an equally respectable 14th place in Austria.
