Billy

French singer Billy enjoyed brief success with rockabilly reworkings in the 1980s. Laurent Bitan, born in Châtenay-Malabry, Hauts-de-Seine, on February 4, 1970, made a name for himself in 1976 under the name Laurent with the song "Petite soeur chérie", before reappearing in 1982 as Billy with "Au temps des suprises-parties", accompanied by Les Forbans. Surfing on the back of rock'n'roll, the young singer seduced a wide audience with his pop-influenced style. After this first success, crowned with a gold disc, the album Tous les Samedis Soirs (1984) was recorded in London, including the homonymous hit and "Bye bye". After becoming a teen star, he presented the TV show Vitamine for a year, then continued his singing career with several singles and the album Promis (1986), produced in Nashville (USA) with Elvis Presley musicians. 1992 saw the release of his last singles, "Si tu veux de moi" and "T'es ma nana". He then reverted to Laurent Bitan, working in the IT sector.
