Bingo Players are a Dutch electro house project formed in 2006 and originally made up of two well known DJs, Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer. During their early career the duo had made an impact on the dance scene playing their own distinctive brand of house but around 2010 they began recording a more conventional form of electronic dance music. The change of style brought a change of fortune and in 2010 they made the top ten in Holland with their single 'Cry Just a Little'. More commercial success followed with their 2012 release 'Get Up (Rattle)' which itself was a remake of their previous hit 'Rattle' released in 2011. The later version saw them promote the single using a quirky video featuring a family of gangster mallard ducks and this garnered over five million views on YouTube. The exposure helped the single hit the top of the charts in the UK and the top ten in four other countries including being certified four times platinum in Australia. Following a battle with cancer Paul Bäumer died in 2013 and Hoogstraten carried on as a solo performer using the same name, an arrangement he had discussed and agreed with Bäumer during the final months of his life. Hoogstraaten's first release as a solo performer was a tribute to his former colleague titled 'Knock You Out' and the track went to number one in the US Dance Charts in 2014 and he has since gone on to release a number of hit singles and EPs.
