Boys Planet

Boys Planet is a 2023 South Korean reality competition show created by television music channel Mnet, serving as a sequel to Girls Planet 999 but featuring all-male contestants. The show premiered on February 2, 2023, selecting 98 contestants from a large pool of thousands of applicants. The applicants are then split into two groups; K-Group and G-Group. The show features a space theme, with contestants guided by "Star Masters." They are then prompted to showcase their singing, dancing, and rapping through the course of several evaluation rounds. The audience vote determines the final lineup of the resulting group, whittling the 98 contestants down to a new 9-member K-pop boy band. Unlike Girls Planet, Boys Planet features a wider range of regions, with applicants coming from 84 countries and regions. The "Star Masters" rotated with each round, offering guidance and advice to contestants. Hosts included figures such as Hwang Min-hyun, Sunmi, Yeo Jin-goo, Jeon Somi, and Kim Jae-hwan. In the final episode, the group's name was revealed: Zerobaseone (abbreviated as ZB1), After performing their final round of songs (including the single "Jelly Pop"), the final group members were revealed: Kim Ji-woong, Kim Gyu-vin, Kim Tae-rae, Park Gun-wook, Ricky, Seok Matthew, Sung Han-bin, Zhang Hao, and Han Yu-jin.
