Bruno Coulais

Born in Paris on January 13, 1954, Bruno Coulais is one of France's leading composers of music for film. Winner of numerous awards from the Académie des César(Microcosmos, Himalaya, Les Choristes) and the Victoires de la musique, his music has a style that differs from the tradition, combining his knowledge of contemporary composition and world music. This ambience specialist has illustrated numerous successful TV films, documentaries and feature films, including Le Peuple Migrateur (2001), Brice de Nice (2004) and its sequel Brice 3 (2016), and Océans (2010). In 2013, the composer of the magical Lady Ô show at Futuroscope de Poitiers took on the music for a new documentary film, Amazonia. The following year, he appeared on the credits of the feature film Gemma Bovery and the animated film Le Chant de la Mer, whose title track was performed by Nolwenn Leroy. He then collaborated with Bertrand Tavernier on his Voyage à Travers le Cinéma Français (2016).
