Originally from Copenhagen, Danish singer Caroline Castell learned to play the piano with her family from the age of five, and sang in a children's church choir. Born into a family of opera singers and musicians, she began writing her first songs at the age of eight, to overcome her parents' divorce. She developed her songwriting talent and learned to play the saxophone, before posting her songs on the Internet. Quickly noticed by record companies, she signed her first contract with Warner Music Denmark at the age of twenty, working with producer Lasse Lyngbo. Released for the first time in 2014, the track "Tidsrejsen", composed for TV, became a Danish chart-topping Christmas classic. Several more singles follow during 2015, before a period of musical silence to focus on other activities. In 2024, ten years later, Caroline Castell delivered a new version of her hit with "Tidsrejsen 2", performed as a duet with Jonah Blacksmith, which reached No. 33 in the charts.
