Rapper Benjamin Griffey (born September 25, 1982 in Lemgo), known as Casper, grew up in Augusta, Georgia (USA). He moved back to Germany at the age of 11. In his youth in Bielefeld, Casper is part of various metal and punk bands. Later, the artist attended rap battles and released his first mixtapes. His debut album Hin Zur Sonne was released in 2008, but failed to enter the charts. Thanks to the pre-release single "So Perfekt", which received a lot of attention, airplay and a platinum award in 2011, the follow-up XOXO went straight to number 1 in the charts. Casper's third album Hinterland (2013) climbs to the top of the charts in Germany again and for the first time in Austria. The singles "Im Ascheregen" (No. 4) and "Hinterland" (No. 11) become top hits. the longplayer Lange Lebe Der Tod followed in 2017 and in 2018 together with Marteria in 1982. Both releases stormed to number 1 in the German charts. The two rappers also won three 1-Live crowns for their collaboration in 2018 in the categories "Best Album", "Best Hip-Hop Act" and "Best Live Act". In 2021, fans can look forward to three new tracks from Casper: "Alles war schön und nichts tat weh","TNT" (feat. Tua) and "Mieses Leben / Wolken" (feat. Haiyti). With the feature on the Lea song "Schwarz"(2021), he achieves a second placement in the German top 10 singles charts at number 7. The album Alles war schön und nichts tat weh followed in 2022, another number 1 success in Germany and Austria. One year later, Casper released his sixth studio album, Nur Liebe, immer.
