Catherine Deneuve

An icon of French cinema and directors such as Jacques Demy(Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, Peau d'Âne), Luis Bunuel(Belle de jour), François Truffaut(Le Dernier métro) and André Téchiné(Hôtel des Amériques, Ma saison préférée), Régis Wargnier(Indochine), Raoul Ruiz, Léos Carax and François Ozon, Catherine Deneuve (born Dorléac in 1949) first became involved in song through Serge Gainsbourg, who produced the 1980 hit "Dieu est un fumeur de havanes", followed by the album Souviens-Toi de M''oublier. A demanding and generous actress, Catherine Deneuve also collaborated with Malcolm McLaren on "Paris Paris" (1993), and appeared in video clips for Joe Cocker ("N'oubliez jamais") and Julien Doré (on rollerblades in "Figures imposées"). She has also lent her voice to duets with Björk(Dancer in the Dark, 2000), Stomy Bugsy ("Joyeux anniversaire maman" in Belle-maman, 1999), Benjamin Biolay ("C'est beau la vie" in the film Potiche, 2010), her daughter Chiara Mastroianni and Ludivine Sagnier in Les Bien-Aimés (2011), and TV appearances with Gérard Depardieu, Alain Souchon and Étienne Daho.
