Jeanne Moreau

Best known for her acting talents, Jeanne Moreau (Paris, January 23, 1928 - July 31, 2017) is also associated with song, notably for her collaboration with Serge Rezvani alias Cyrus Bassiak on the two most popular songs in his repertoire: "Le Tourbillon", which she performed in François Truffaut's film Jules et Jim (1961), and "J'ai la mémoire qui flanche" (1963), for the first of their two collaborative albums. She also co-starred with Brigitte Bardot in the songs for Louis Malle's Viva Maria! (1965) and with Marguerite Duras of the theme from her film India Song (1975). In 1995, she took to the stage at the Cannes Film Festival, of which she was honorary president, to accompany Vanessa Paradis in a cult version of the famous "Tourbillon". In 2010, together with Étienne Daho, she took part in an ambitious project presented on record and on stage: the adaptation of Jean Genet's poem Le Condamné à mort.
