The Australian alternative R&B band Chase Atlantic consists of the two brothers Mitchel and Clinton Cave and Christian Anthony, who founded the band in 2011. Until 2014, however, the trio from Cairns, Queensland, still called themselves K.I.D.S. (Kind Imaginations. Destructive Situations). They then toured as Chase Atlantic and released six EPs in three years. Among them was Nostalgia (2015), including their first hit "Friends", which brought them great attention in the music world. They channeled their explosive mix of alternative rock, dark R&B and atmospheric electronic elements on their debut album Chase Atlantic (2017), which was followed by their first headlining tour of the USA and several shows in Europe. At their live concerts, they were supported by guitarist Patrick Wilde and drummer Jesse Boyle, who are not considered permanent members of the band. in 2018, they were awarded the AAA Rising Star Award by the American Australian Association. With the albums Phases (2019) and Beauty in Death (2021), they were able to gain a large fan base for their overall concept of atmospheric songs, extravagant fashion and energetic live performances. In the fall of 2024, Chase Atlantic returned with the album Lost in Heaven. The album climbed to number 4 in the Australian charts and also reached number 88 in the British charts.
