Park Cho-rong, known mononymously as Chorong, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actress, born on March 3, 1991, in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. As the leader of the girl group Apink, Chorong has been a prominent figure in K-pop since the group’s debut in 2011. She grew up practicing Hapkido under the guidance of her father, a martial arts master, earning a third-degree black belt by junior high. Chorong's journey in the entertainment industry began when she auditioned for JYP Entertainment in 2009, reaching the final round before joining Cube Entertainment and eventually transferring to A Cube Entertainment (now IST Entertainment). In 2011, she debuted with Apink, gaining acclaim with hits like "Mollayo" from their EP Seven Springs of Apink (2011). Alongside her music career, Chorong ventured into acting with her debut in the sitcom All My Love (2010) and later appeared in Reply 1997 (2012) and Plus Nine Boys (2014). Her first leading role came in 2014, playing Han Soo-ah in the romantic comedy Plus Nine Boys. In 2023, Chorong signed with Choi Creative Lab while remaining part of Apink. She released her first digital single, "fallin'", in 2024, marking a new chapter in her career.
