Carlos Ortíz Rivera (born September 19, 1989), professionally known as Chris Jedi or Chris Jeday, is a Puerto Rican DJ and producer who has been active in the Latin urban scene since 2010. Born in the city of San Juan, he initially attempted to make it as a reggaeton singer before taking his first steps as a producer under the wing of Luny Tunes. His first production credits date back to 2010 when he worked alongside composer O'Neill on Zion & Lennox's "Si Fuera Por Mí." In 2012, Chris Jeday participated in the songwriting and production process of Wisin & Yandel's Líderes album, most notably on the chart-topping hit "Algo Me Gusta de Ti." He made his debut as a solo artist on 2016's "Dale Hasta Abajo" featuring singer Joey Montana. With cameos by J Balvin, Ozuna, and Arcángel, his next single "Ahora Dice" (2017) reached Number 7 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart and spawned a remix with Cardi B. During this time, Chris Jeday was involved in the making of some of the most popular reggaeton albums in recent memory, including J Balvin's Vibras (2018), and Bad Bunny's 2020 blockbusters YHLQMDLG and El Último Tour del Mundo. In addition to his work behind the console, he has also released a slew of successful singles of his own such as "Ella Quiere Beber" (2018), "Soltera" (2019) with Lunay, "Los de Siempre" (2021) with Anuel AA, and "La Llevo al Cielo" (2022) with Ñengo Flow, Anuel AA, and Chencho Corleone.
