CO.RO. takes its name from the first letters of the names of the two producers behind this Italian Eurodance project, which was born in 1992: Emanuele Cozzi and Maurizio Rossi. By covering "Because the Night", the hit composed by Bruce Springsteen for Patti Smith, and including a few samples taken from another notable success, Depeche Mode's "Master and Servant ", they immediately gained notoriety. Produced with the support of singer Taleesa (Emanuela Gubinelli), the duo reached number six in the French Top 50, where it remained for over six months. Despite the release of numerous other singles, such as "There's Something Going", "4 Your Love " and "Temptation " in 1993, and an album soberly entitled The Album the following year, the Transalpine outfit failed to match its initial success. The curtain finally came down in 1999, after CO.RO. had made a name for themselves with another David Bowie cover, "Life on Mars? in 1995.
