Dabl De is a modern North African music duo formed in 2018, blending Western beats with Arab musical aromas. The duo, composed of Ahmed Ben Salama (Defame) and Wassim Frihat (Dable U), emerged from the vibrant hip-hop scene in Tunis to create a unique sound that resonates across the Arab region. Ahmed, born January 1, 1993, in Tunis, was inspired by legendary Arabic musicians such as Fayrouz and Sheikh Imam. He began with poetry, later mastering the guitar, releasing solos like Aber Sabil and Dakhlet Fel Hila. Wassim, born December 20, 1994, to a Palestinian father and Tunisian mother, was shaped by economic hardships and his artistic family. His influences include underground rap and societal struggles, which he channeled into music after studying audiovisual production. Their first meeting during a 2013 freestyle battle led to the creation of the group Houmazen in 2014. After its disbandment in 2017, they reformed as Dabl De, launching a YouTube channel in 2018, now reaching over 100K subscribers, and continuing to redefine Tunisian music.
