Das Lumpenpack are essentially the German rock poppers Maximilian Kennel (born on September 7, 1991 in Augsburg) and Jonas Frömming (born on January 20, 1989 in Kassel), who have been releasing music together since 2012. Their songs are characterized by humorous lyrics. The two Lumpenpack founders originally come from the poetry slam scene. In 2013, the band released their first album Steil-geh-LP via Roof Records. Lumpenpack then toured various comedy festivals. Various appearances on radio and television make Lumpenpack well-known in Germany. Two more albums follow with Steil II (2015) and Die Zukunft wird groß (2017). The fourth album - Eine herbe Enttäuschung - made it into the German charts for the first time in 2019 at number 14. The follow-up Emotions made it into the German top 10 in 2021 at number 9. Lumpenpack won several awards, including the Baden-Württemberg Kleinkunstpreis (2016) and the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis (2021). Since the pandemic, Alex Eckert (drums), Jason Bartsch (guitar and keyboard) and Lola Schrode (bass) have been part of Lumpenpack's permanent ensemble. In 2023, the new line-up released the album Wach. The longplayer climbs to number 3 in the German charts.
