Dave

Born on June 5, 1998 in Brixton, England, David Orobosa Omoregie, aka Dave, is an English hip-hop performer who started writing and performing rap as a teenager. He garnered attention with mixtapes and radio appearances and in 2016 released the EP Six Paths while Canadian rapper Drake released a remix of Dave's “Wanna Know.” The EP Game Over (2017) went to Number 13 on the UK Albums Chart and he won a MOBO Award as Best Newcomer in 2017. His 2018 single “Funky Friday” with Fredo topped the UK Singles Chart and he featured on Headie One's “18HUNNA” (2019), which peaked at Number 6. In 2019, his studio debut Psychodrama topped the UK Albums Chart and the track “Disaster” featuring J Hus reached Number 8 on the UK Singles Chart. “Streatham” went to Number 9 on the Singles Chart and “Location” featuring Burna Boy hit Number 11. That same year, Dave made his debut at the Glastonbury festival and won a Mercury Prize for Psychodrama, which was also named Album of the Year at the 2020 Brit Awards. Preceded by the Stormzy collaborative track “Clash,” his second full-length We're All Alone in This Together came out in 2021 and shot straight to the top of the UK’s Official Albums Chart. The LP won the MOBO Award for Album of the Year in 2021 and follow-up singles “System” featuring Wizkid and “Verdansk,” both included in Dave’s sophomore effort, bowed at Number 4 on the British charts. He upped his game even further in 2022 when he scored his first solo UK chart-topper with "Starlight," that year taking home a BRIT Award for Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act while the following June beat his own record for "Sprinter" with Central Cee, the history-making lead single to their joint EP Split Decision, which rocketed to number one and notched up the highest number of streams ever for a UK rap single.
