Dave Clarke

Of all the heirs to the original Detroit (Michigan) sound, British DJ Dave Clarke is undoubtedly the one who has best preserved its purity. Initially influenced by hip-hop, he then moved into the acid house and rave scenes. In 1994, Dave Clarke released his first EPs, Red 1 and Red 2, followed by Red 3 in 1995. His 1996 album Archive One soon became a benchmark for the genre. Dave Clarke is also recognized as a talented remixer for The Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, Depeche Mode and Felix Da Housecat. Dave Clarke mainly releases DJ mixes, waiting until 2003 to deliver his second album Devil's Advocate. In November 2011, Dave Clarke released his volume in the Fabric series, entitled Fabric 60, in which he shows he hasn't lost his knack for mixing dense, slightly gothic techno.
