The French rap artist Dinos, formerly known as Dinos Punchlinovic, was born Jules Jomby in Cameroon on November 30, 1993 prior to his parents relocating to La Courneuve in Seine-Saint-Denis in 1997. Jomby began to make a name for himself in MC rap competitions before signing to Def Jam France at the age of 20. His debut EP was L'Alchimiste (2013), a title inspired by Paulo Coelho’s 1998 novel. Within a year he left Def Jam and signed for Capitol, releasing his second EP titled Appearances just over a year later. Propelled by the single “Namek,” Appearances (2014) was a minor success for the rapper but after its release, Jomby disappeared from the public for a few years to work on his debut album Imany, which dropped in 2018. The album's follow-up, Taciturne, saw the light in 2019 and was followed by an extended version under the name Taciturne, les Inachevés in 2020. Third album Stamina, arrived shortly after, reaching Number 3 in France and spawning the hit “Moins Un,” his first single to reach the top of the SNEP Singles Chart. In 2021, Dinos released an extended version of the album titled Stamina, Memento, which featured the single “Du Mal à Te Dire,” a collaboration with fellow rapper Damso that went to Number 16 on the French Singles Chart.
