Real name Dominique Preira, Senegalese rapper Dip Doundou Guiss was born in Dakar on March 22, 1991. He became interested in rap as a teenager, listening to the likes of Positive Black Soul, Daara J for local artists and DMX on the international scene. It was on the streets and freestyling that he was discovered in 2009, although it would be another two years before he went professional and joined forces with his friend Sawzi to form the group Doundou Guiss. When his sidekick decided to retire from rap after a few months, Dip went solo, joining the Rep'Tyle Music label in 2012 and releasing his first single "Hors norme". His notoriety then grew with the help of social networks, and in 2013 he released his first EP under the name Dip Quinzaine I. The following year saw the release of the mixtape Beus Niki Tay, with contributions from artists such as Hakill, One Lyrical, Dizzy Kha, M.A.S.S., Fla the Ripper, Elzo Jamdong, Ndongo D and Badzo. After the Dip Quinzaine 2.0 EP in 2015, 2017 was a banner year with the releases of the Dip Quinzaine III EP and the Tay Leu Kagn album, which houses collaborations with Ceepee, Marema or Titi among others. These will be followed in 2019 by LNN (Loo Ñeme Ñàkk) , featuring guest appearances by Aida Samb, Lefa and Toumani. In 2022, he released several singles, including "Califat", "J'prends la confiance" in a duet with Youssoupha and "#BBDD (Bo Bëgge Degg Dëg)" with Hussain Dada.
