Born in Abidjan on January 16, 1981, DJ Arsenal's career took off when he decided to become a DJ. In addition to his local notoriety, the coupé-décalé musician produced and released his first album, Shéloubouka, at the age of 24. Little by little, the word became part of the Ivorian vocabulary, especially for the eponymous track, whose coupé-décalé rhythms set the country alight. Shéloubouka became a dance, a concept, and the success of this first album earned its author the prize for Best Coupé Décalé Album of the Year at the 2006 RTI Music Awards. In addition to his well-known hit, DJ Arsenal has been involved in numerous collaborations with other artists on the scene, including DJ Jacob ( "Attalaku Mega"), DJ Caloudji ("Sentiment Moko") and DJ Mathieu "Onction" ("Konami"). Although Shéloubouka will be his only album, Arsenal will go down in Ivorian music history with a track that symbolizes his era, in the same way as DJ Bonano and his "Django" dance in 2006.
